Hello cyber space,
The purpose of “Joe Dan’s Corner” is to create a page where our website visitors can ask questions about turquoise.
Since there is no way for me to answer all of the questions from our web visitors, I will answer one or two questions a month. So please join our mailing list and write in your questions. Come back each month and read the answers.
This site will not be dry and boring. Humor, personality and colorful opinions are all part of the people who promote turquoise. Everyone who knows me knows that I don’t like turquoise, so don’t be too concerned if I give a cold-hearted opinion of a turquoise mine’s grade, provenance, color or matrix. I also might find some of the cons and the con artists that promote them, a little simple minded. This forum is just to give my opinion while giving the reasons for my opinions using geology, mineralogy, old and new information and current laws.
To start my corner, I am going to have a contest that will run from November 23, 2008 to December 31, 2008. Enter your question and join our mailing list. Until the end of this year the person’s whose question is the 5th, 10th, 20th, 100th, 500th and 1,000th entered will win a free autographed copy of our book “Turquoise Unearthed”. Each person is only eligible once. Get those questions in as soon as possible. The question that is asked the most will be the topic for January’s “Joe Dan’s Corner”.
